Additional Costs on Court Papers being issued?

                    Hi,
My wife parked on a Private Eye operated Car Park at a hospital. The car park in question was previously pay and display but had changed to number plate recognition system. My wife wasnt aware of the change in system (despite signage) and purchased a ticket on parking as per the previous system.
We subsequently had charge notice letters via post.
Rightly or wrongly I've taken a policy of ignoring the letters.
I suspect that I have now missed the window in terms of appealing.
It now seems that I have had the final "Letter before County Claim Court" letter. Rudimentary research suggests that Parking Eye are now taking folk to Court to prove a point.
I don't feel that I am in a position to mount a plausible defense in court.
So, my questions;
What is the likelihood of receiving court papers. i.e. has anyone got a feel for the % that Private Eye are taking to court?
If I do receive court papers, it seems I can accept responsibility, but am not clear on what the charges over and above the £70 would be (If any). Are there any additional charges that I would be liable for? Court costs?
Thanks in advance for any advice and apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. If it has been covered elsewhere a link would be appreciated!

            its all covered in the NEWBIES sticky thread near the top of this forum
 last year PE issued over thirty thousand court papers, plus the Beavis case has been rattling along for 2 years already
 also check parking pranksters website and blogs as PE feature prominently and have done for over 2 years
 not sure why you havent complained to the trust or PALS and insisted on the ticket being cancelled though
 ps:- its not PRIVATE eye, that is a magazine edited by Ian Hislop 0 0

            Thanks Red and enfield.
 Just flicking through the Eye earlier (Must have been on my mind!). Although the thought of Hislop patrolling car parks in a high visvest has made me chuckle 0 0

            OP, if you are the registered keeper you can re-set the clock by naming your wife as the driver. They will have to send her a Notice to Driver, and she can appeal.Je suis Charlie.0
