Buying a car through Optimal Payment

I have been looking at buying a car. The seller has stated that he is in the forces, and the transaction will take place through Optimal Payments. I have not been able to view the car as it is at the barracks, however, the seller has said Optimal Payments will arrange for the car to be delivered to me and payment to be held for 5 days, for inspection of the car. Therefore, if we are not happy with the purchase we can send it back. I have googled the company and read all the information I can find. It looks, on the surface, to be a reputable company, however, I would feel more comfortable doing the transaction if I had reviews from previous customers. Has anyone else had any experience with this company?

First thing to say is that they seem to be based in Isle of Man so UK protection would be nil.
Quick look on Google for reviews I would not touch them with a sh88ty pole.
Unless you want to pay with a credit card you may want to move this thread to the right section.0 -

Sorry, quite new to the forum. Wasn't sure what section to post under.
I'm obviously not googling the right question. Clearly not tech savvy enough0 -
Is the price too good to be true?

So, a company that's about to be listed on FTSE 250 is going to broker deal on a second hand car, as for some reason I don't understand, you're unable to meet before handing over any money.
This reeks of scam, as already said here.💙💛 💔0 -

Google paypal secure or yahoo finance or hundreds of other scams where you cannot just go and buy the car, it gets delivered to you and the funds are held by a 3rd party until you are happy with the car.
What your likely to find is the account number is the scammers and your money is gone the instant it leaves your account.
No car will appear.
Dont buy any car that you cannot go and inspect at the sellers home address.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Thanks to everyone for your advice. After trawling the internet for similar experiences, I have established it is 100% a scam. I'm sure I would not have gone all the way through the sale, as too much of it stunk. But your advice has helped me immensely0
