Car Insurance – do I have a no claims discount?

So my car insurance is due for renewal on the 21st of May, and I expected to have lost my no claims discount having made a claim (accident my fault) in early June last year, a few weeks into my current policy with Zenith. However on my renewal letter, on which they incidentally do not offer a renewal quote – causing me to look elsewhere regardless, they have sent me a proof of no claims discount of 1 year.

Can I use this no claims discount on my next quote? Could there be a reason why my claim hasn't affected it? (I don't recall protecting my NCD). Is it possible they've made a mistake?

Any advice much appreciated. I neither wish to make a fraudulent NCD quote or to waste NCD that I do have.
