How can I get CCJ details from abroad?

Hi everyone,

So I am currently living abroad and I know I have a CCJ under my name but have no idea where it came from.I am currently living in Greece and I was wondering if there is a way for me to find out which company took me to court .I have the case number, date and amount owed but nothing rings a bell.

Is there anyway to get the full details of the creditor from abroad?Should I call the court?

Where did you get the info from? Trust online?

If it's not on there, calling the court is a good plan.

No trust online don't have info on the claimant, you do need to get that from the court that issued the judgement.

    Hi J33,

Tixy and happy_bunny are right - you will need to call the court to find out more. Hopefully, Trust Online has given you the name of the court (along with the reference, balance and date of judgement). You can then call that court with your reference number and ask them who the claimant is. If you do not recognise the name of the claimant (because it is a debt collector) then call them and ask them what debt they were enforcing. This should give you all the details you need about the judgement.

The next step will be paying the debt in full (or doing a payment plan). If you can't pay this in full and need to do instalments then this may be trickier from abroad but it is possible. Are you planning on returning to the UK? Do you have any property in the UK? These things will affect how you ultimately deal with the judgement.
