My hudl2 has been showing the wrong time consistently for some time now and I hoped the new update would fix it. Instead it has made it worse as now not only is the time wrong, but it thinks it is January 1st. Google will not open as a result. Anyone else got this problem?

It usually loses the date because when the battery is very low, the initial current drawn on switch on drops the voltage below the level that the internal clock uses, so the clock resets.
Normally it should set itself very quickly when it gets a valid wifi connection to the internet.
Check that you have Automatic date and time enabled.;
Settings
Scroll down to Date & Time
Tap the line
Make sure there is a tick in the Automatic box.
Alternatively you could set it manually and the switch back to auto.0 -
Does the clock update itself when you open the clock app? If so, you might have the clock set to not run in the background.
I don't have a hudl so don't know how you'd check/change that setting.0 -
It is an inherent fault with the hudl 2, along with not charging, unless you press power button to reset. Nothing to current draw.
reset by holding power button should also put the clock back to normal.
tesco won't acknowledge there is a problem. If you look online for hudl 2 problems, there is countless posts.
