I paid £4.50 to park at a pay and display car park on Sunday 26 April on Aire Street in Leeds. Today I received a parking charge notice for £100 (£60 if I pay by 21 May i.e. 10 days) stating that I either stayed longer than permitted or did not purchase the appropriate parking time. I only stayed there for 3 hours 45 minutes - which I recall the £4.50 I paid covered. Please can you assist with how I can appeal this charge?
Nothing I have read covers charges issued when the person charged doesn't think it should have been!
Many thanks

Your first mistake was trusting them.

            Check the signage was correct.
If you had to put in your registration and you still have the ticket check its correct.
A camera has recorded you entering and leaving and has matched your registration to what you payed. The likelihood is that you've gone wrong somewhere. You could have payed £4.50 but coins could have been rejected, you didn't notice and purchased a ticket for less time.
That's still no reason to pay it though.0
