    Hi amnblog. Yes, I was aware of that, but I was just trying to confirm future plans.

    Ship's crew is not an uncommon situation, and some lenders make allowances, although it would certainly help if your employer could pay you direct to a UK foreign currency account - even for a period of three to six months.

    Are you single or do you have a wife and family?

    Let Us See

    I am paid into a US Dollar account with HSBC in Jersey, i then convert to sterling and transfer to my current account.

    We get married next month and have one child.
