Rendering on 1930s semi - £8k plus Vat?

I have a 1930s semi detached house - extended to the left return. I've been quoted £4,000 to strip old render then £2,300 to paint it, £1500 for scaffolding. It sounds like a lot! (£7.8k plus VAT)
We're still waiting for other quotes (four weeks and counting for one) but I wanted to know if that sounds right.
They've also quoted £1500 to demolish old garage and remove asbestos, £1435 to replace three windows and £1300 to replace fascias.
All plus vat.
How does it sound? Thank you

Is the 4k for strip and re-render or just paint for another 2.3k. Modern silicone based renders that are coloured would reduce the painting bit, as you don't paint them.
Also if the old render had blown off, you don't really want sand and cement render again. damp in the walls can't get out but silicone render is breathable. &.8 including vat sounds better. Check your quoters are VAT registered. They might not be ....0
