Taylor Wimpey Upgrades and Extras

Hi everyone, we have got our name down for a taylor wimpey plot on a development near us which has just opened 2 weeks ago. I was just wondering if anyone had a list of prices for the extras and upgrades as me and my husband completely appreciate that the spec in the show homes is not standard and we are fine with that but are wanting to get an idea of rough costs for the extras we like such as full tiling in bathrooms, oak doors, white goods, upgraded kitchen sink and tap, spot lights, build in wardrobes etc. I appreciate that people recommend doing that once we have moved in as we could get it done cheaper but I don't mind paying a premium if it means we can move in without any hassle as I have a 2 year old and I'm pregnant so the less stress the better.

Thanks everyone and I look forward to hearing from you x

Wouldn't asking the rep at the development you've reserved be the way to go?

There isn't going to be one universal set of pricing as not all houses are the same, in a lot of cases the cost of each upgrade is going to be related to the size/layout of the house and what's being upgraded.

    Edit:

As an example, you can see an online brochure for the "Hayes Green" development at:

    http://twbrochure.co.uk/hayes-green/

As you can see, all the prices are "From" (as the cost depends entirely on the house you've reserved) and are specific to that development.

Hi nidO, she has been open in giving us prices for a few bits like door into garage and electrics etc but said other stuff may change price by time we have our options meeting as plot isn't due for completion until April 2016. Just thought I would ask and see if anyone who is currently buying with taylor wimpey could give me a rough price. Thanks
  • Hi Mummy K - I know you say you don't mind paying a premium, but bear in mind you won't necessarily get a premium product or finish. I avoided extras on my first wimpey home - that was 12 years ago - the price of everything was really high. I was lucky this time as I bought the showhome so all extras included :)

Remember if the upgrade is done as part of a new house then there should be no VAT. If it's done after you move in as a refurbishment then if you use a VAT registered company they will charge VAT.
  • Hi I am hoping to buy a Taylor Wimpey home next year what price did they give you for a door added to the garage?
