afternoon all
A question for gardening experts regarding calla lilies - how easy or hard are they to keep, what conditions do they like, do they get the lily beetle?
Also had huge trolleys of them outside and they looked so pretty but I didn't risk getting one - don't know the price.
I did though find a new plant in the Morrisons plant section, 2 for £3 - sheeps bit, lovely blue bobble heads
also our castor oil plant is full of seed heads - how easy or difficult is it to get them to germinate - I expect it takes ages by which time you have forgotten what you have planted
I have a calla lily I bought for £5 off the market pre mse.
I was told by seller it was very hardy and it is. I have mine in a pot but she said do very well in ground and spread well. I must admit the slugs do like them but I find as long as I keep it away from the wall as it is in a tall pot they don't bother.
I get lovely flowers that last ages.
I bought it as daughter had them in her bouquet.
Evening all
Busy day at dad's but we are ready for kitchen and bathroom cleaning tomorrow and brother in law is emptying and sorting the garage. Solved the getting rid of furniture problem, local auction house charge £50 to collect and list the 15% of sale. A local charity wanted £300 to collect. As long as we get £50 anything else is a bonus. What tipped us was dad's lovely dinning suite with sideboard. Seems like charity furniture shops are not as cheap as could be seeing items are donations so cutting out the middle man.
Only 4 trips to tip today.
Our buyers moved in 4 car loads of boxes as they move out into hotel next Friday. Lovely big photo of my grandson was hung up straight away and he looks at home:T
Visited old cremitorium to see if my brothers stone was still on the wall.
Can't believe you have to pay for the space in blocks of 25 years:mad: Dad had obviously paid for a long lease as 51 years ago.
As this resting place is closed to new members as full wall we are replacing the stone with a joint one. Think dad would be very pleased with this and seems to be what people do as we're newer stones in the wall.
Asked mum out of respect and she is very happy with this arrangement.
Feels like huge weight has been lifted.
On the stashing front, I don't buy much of the things only I will use but washing machine, dishwasher and toiletries I stock the family with providing they work out free after initial outlay. If anyone wants to raid my personal stash they pay.
I have one standard uni bin of personal toiletries, one of gifts and small height under stairs cupboard with wine and non perishables. I don't worry about anything until down to last 2 of anything. Not keen on frozen food so don't often partake.
I prefer the clever glitches and code stacking on other items.
BB time then Anzac Girls. Will sleep well tonight.
Congratulations on tweets maintenance loss and I noticed Tinyshoes has 2 lbs more gone since party:T

uh oh, SIL ain't gonna be happy
She asked me for ebay advice earlier. She's been watching something all week that had a buy it now of £75, active bidders but reserve not met. It ended 3 hours after she told me so I said if no-one had bought it now she should wait and go in with a bid in the closing seconds. Someone took the buy it now option 3 mins before close! Who does that?Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
