It has always been like that for me,never had overage, but free was fine , maybe just my store then.
I first noticed it last summer when we had the Sun vouchers and I bought 3 x sea bass @ 49p each which should have been £4.00 each or 3 for £10.00 and the till took off £1.47 not £2.00 .
It took me a while to work out what happened, I think I asked on here at the time.
I am in there nearly every day and I really think they have sorted it , at least in my store.:(0 -

I have not done any C&C for a few months now but when I did once I got the voucher in the account, I would spend it that night on all of the accounts as I didn't want Asda to steal them off me
BTW, what's up with MSE tonight, every time I post it errors. then have to rewrite it.

it's been reported before that the multibuy discount won't take off more than you pay. ie you don't get overage anymore
Does that mean that, if the mbuy discount would have been more than you paid, you can't add random items of shopping to your shop so that the excess amount goes towards a discount towards them?
So that, if whoopsie price is 10p each say, but mbuy discount would have been 50p had they been individual full price, add 40p of other items and get whole shop free. The amount you pay is 50p - multibuy discount can be up to (but not more than) that amount - therefore you get 50p mbuy discount and total bill is 0p. Or will it only take 20p discount as the mbuy from your shop (the price you pay of the whoopsied items), whether or not you add some other shopping to the shop?0 -

:huh::rotfl:Exactly which bit?
I've, effectively, asked "is it a or b?" and you've told me "that's right" - well, which of those is right - is it a or is it b?
I'm not doing very well at the moment - in that I feel I'm writing in such a convoluted way and I'm convinced many people would be able to write much more succinctly what I'm trying to say - so, if you can understand me and what I'm saying in my posts, then well done!:T:):D
I am trying to express myself clearly, but I don't think I'm doing very well doing so here. (Did anyone, apart from me, understand my last post?:rotfl:)0 -

1 x Belvita Breakfast Biscuits - Honey & Nuts (6x50g)£2.59£1.29
Comparison total (compared products only)£24.91£13.83
I did consider something like this item, for my instore shop - but concluded that, as it would mean I would pay about £1.16 extra than what I was otherwise going to do (before I considered whether to add a Belvita to my shop), I may as well just add a 10p Haribo instead. I thought about the Belvitas - even though they go down to £1 (or, last time, 96p) in A and therefore shouldering a small 16p or 20p 'loss' but that loss offset by being able to get a good APG but, even then, although I was considering being prepared to pay a little more for them (that 20p more on their current '10% cheaper than T' than A's 96p of a month or so ago), I still decided in the end not even to bother with them.
I'd only even been considering the Belvita in the first place because of the requirement to buy at least 8 different items in my shopping to get an APG, given that my good items in my shopping basket were such a struggle to get and I was well short of 8 and, even then, not getting much APG on them (as £1 A vs £1 T is 10p:( APG) so needing something like the Belvitas to help and make the resulting APG worthwhile. I ruled it out - I'd be paying £1.16 more than I needed, just in order to get a Belvita to make a good APG, so I end up with not enough items and not even worth bothering to do a shop at all:rotfl:. No shopping done - saving me money every day:rotfl::rotfl:!
Having said all this (as usual, all this) - one good item at present - I was avoiding mentioning this as it only sees people paying £1.48 more than necessary - is the Birds Eye Breaded Chicken Dippers (24) that are on offer in A at £1.48 - although, now I've mentioned it they'll probably put the price back up like the Brains Faggots for bubbs. At £1.48, they are not quite as low as 10% cheaper than M's £1.62 offer price on the other version at the start of the year - and I think we found slightly cheaper own brand in M than that on RTC soon afterwards - but, still, £1.48 is a 'good' price on them. They show £1.48 for A and £3.25 M - everywhere else N/A so don't buy them vs M - I think I did see £3.25 returning for M on the APG earlier so they won't help! I don't know if buying them in M would compare against A at £1.48 - it ought to, but I don't know whether it does or not.
Meanwhile, some Bernard Matthews Turkey Dinosaurs I think are also on £1.48 in A, although perhaps that is not a good price as they have been £1 at M in earlier times.
So, is it 500g of breaded turkey rejected at £1.48 but 440g of breaded chicken taken up at that price?:rotfl: Strange indeed - but seems general prices of things make it be that way.0
