    TS just looked at the others these were jan 2015, so not long, but dont know if its cause they had been in the shed then bought inside

    Guess change of temperature may have done it. I noticed some of the squash bottles I have stored outside got sucked in went it was cold. They seem to be ok now though.

    3 x domestos at £1.08 each

    I have never know a tin of anything to blow. :eek: Is that why beans have a reputation. ;)

    Threw out a tin of mince beef and onion that DD1 was given in food parcel for uni other day that had 2011 on it and a tin of Shippams chicken curry that I brought back from mum's 2012 I think. They looked ok from the outside but Mr TS said they were too old to use and as we had them so long didn't look like we were ever going to anyway. :o

    :eek::eek:

    We have used plenty of things that were further out of date than that. Don't forget that canning was invented before use by dates. If something looks OK and smells OK then it almost certainly is!

    Unless the tin is rusty or blown it is likely to be good, the only thing that might be dodgy is if the tin is seriously dented.
    What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

    I remember you was off same time last year :)

    I remember couple months back was a funny smell in Poppy's food cupboard . Further investigation found a blown tin the smell was _pale_ I bagged it up and took back to Mr T's customer service :D Women just took one look at bag with tin in and told me to go and get another couple tins from shelf to replace it . Got back to customer service and she had a £5 gift card waiting . Glad I didn't throw it away had no receipt but tin was Mr T dog food and well in date ;)
