    Good afternoon all:D

I wonder if anyone could answer a quick question for me?
I know some of you are and some of you have cleaners and ironing services, what is the going rate for a cleaner/ironing services? and how many hours do you pay for? sorry one last question:o what can you expect to get done in x amount of hours? and do cleaners iron?

I have a large house and (very lazy) teenage boys, who do absolutely nothing around the it:eek:, I work about 50+ hours a week and really don't want to spend my days off cleaning up after them, so looking in to getting a cleaning and/or an ironing lady

Can anyone please give me some advice...:)

    TIA XX

You have probably had an answer by now but I pay my cleaner £8 an hour direct and pay her company £2.49 a session for insurance. I use Bella Casa who seem to be franchises but many good company's out there. Rate of pay depends on area as well. Mine does not iron but only because we had a chat when she started and to be honest she only just gets round house in the time give.
Cleaners don't tend to tidy up so if your boys leave a mess they will clean the space under it and put mess back. Might be a way of getting your boys to be tidier.
If I need ironing doing there are plenty of good services and seems to be a linen basket and hour@ £10 hour.
I supply my cleaner with everything and thankfully she likes to steam everything which cuts down on chemicals.

If you need help with untidy boys then you might need a more in depth service where someone actually tidy up as well.

I love having a cleaner. No only frees my time up (and takes pressure off when body not too good)but also I am alot tidier and more mindful of my home now.

Mine does a 3 bed semi in 3 hours. This is top to bottom. I live alone though. She has also started doing mums large old dusty house and is doing 4 hours a fortnight but think will end up doing 3 a week as has 5 toilets and 2 full bathrooms to do.

My girl will change beds ect if asked to if she has any time left..

I pay £9 an hour. She doesn't iron because her ironing is so slow I would rather she clean.

If this was me, I would figure out what is a living wage for a man/woman to raise the average number of children without being dependent on benefits and then divide this by 37 hours..... then the state is not supporting or subsiding my employees!

If everyone paid enough that no-one need claim family or working tax credits, there would be a lot of unemployed people around, as a lot of employers wouldn't be able to employ as many staff!

Thanks for this BB. Looks like I will be getting cider tomorrow. Always useful to give my gardener to keep him happy.

The cleaner I got as my Christmas gift from my family (at my request) did tidy, but she put things where she wanted, not really where they should go. I didn't really mind as at least my house had a nice clean that I hadn't had to do.

I had 4 hours of what was classed as a deep clean done and that was for 2 up 2 down. The price was £10 an hour.

The cleaning service company do offer a separate ironing service but it was a separate service, and not something the cleaner I had did as part of the job she was hired to do. I was also able to add an oven clean on for an extra £5 and also a fridge clean on for an extra £5, which used up the £50 gift voucher I received.

    You can buy from Amazon.
I got 1 litre of the strong stuff - it's four times as strong as concentrated Roundup and it cost around the same as 100ml (ish of roundup).
Use 40 times more than Roundup.
If you can't find it I'll look for my last order.
    Have to dash now. HTH

Thank you. Price wise the best option seems to be the 5l Gallup 360 concentrate. I will sleep on it, and place an order tomorrow me thinks. I have a few areas that could do with a weed cull :(

Putting 2 barcodes on is only half a solution to a problem

Yes it's easy for someone in a receiving office to scan them all until a klaxon sounds *duplicate apg* but it would be better if they just went T's route and put on a single use, unique barcode.

That's the only way to stop folks reprinting
