Unfortunately we pick out the little worrying bits and concentrate all our thoughts on those...instead of listening to all the reassurances. I'm sure all will be well hampy....could it be that her dates are just a little but out?
Thanks TM, yes could be, we're hoping it's just thatrhosynbach wrote: »Hampy no advice to give but sending positive thoughts to your dd and hugs to you must be such a worry I really think they should be more careful what they say until they are certain xx

DD1 and DD2 had their 20 week scans today, DD1 all ok. DD2 was told all fine except when they came to do the measurements. The sonographer said the leg measurements weren't where they should be on the graph and asked for someone else to come in to check he was taking the right measurements as the baby was in the wrong position. He mentioned the word dwarfism (which I don't think he should have as he's not an expert). They've asked her to come back next week when she will be scanned by 2 consultants. So she was going to be a whole week worrying.
They've put the fear of God in her and she rang me from the hospital sobbing. DD1 rang a local private hospital and they managed to fit her in for another scan this afternoon (a few hours later). The lady was very nice and said its very rare for something like dwarfism which is usually picked up at 12 weeks and her 12 week scan was fine. She also said they have many people going in for scans after being worried by a previous scan and 9/10 they all turn out fine. The leg measurement from the 2nd scan showed 3mm below what it should be on the graph they work to and she's put her back a week so baby due a week later.
The lady sonographer gave her a print off of the graph and I've had a look at it, and as a lay person it really is just beneath the line it should be.
I've stopped looking on netmums and mumsnet and the like as don't want to read into things but most people were saying everything turned out normal for them.
So we've just reassured her all we can, but just wish the first sonographer had just said something like we've not been able to take all the measurements we need as the baby is in the wrong position and asked her to come back the following week.
Fingers crossed for next week
Trainees shouldn't speak out like that causing worry before things have been checked by an expert. I'm sure it'll turn out that DDs dates are slightly out.
You and the family are in my thoughts and prayers that all turns out well xGN coming home tomorrow all being well.
