I notice the impulse buying is in full swing again:(. Got just two wombles (so far) and both of them have Sensations on them at 97p. Of course they lose quite a lot versus all of the three main stores at the moment, and at 97p:( vs £1.00 W add only 7p:( back (or 8p if you are lucky) which is then results in everything been lost on the whole receipts as W are usually much more expensive than A on a lot of items, with people picking up 97p and 98p stuff. Most people's buying strategy is upside-down:(. People generally don't have any strategy at all:rotfl:. It just seems to be 'pick whatever is on the shelf that looks as if it's on offer and pay more money than sense'.

People often go for 6 pack crisps at these expensive 97p and £1 prices, or 150g packs (exactly the same), presumably because they see crisps that have gone up from £1 to £1.50:eek: (whoever would pay that? The answer is: loads of people, every week) and have expensive 3 for £4 mbuys (multispend) "offers" on them. Therefore, their pricing perception makes them think £1s (and 97ps:() are good deals. And sees them paying nearly as much for a 6 pack as the Lidl 24 packs of crisps we got. After all, crisps are crisps:rotfl:. Walkers version:wall: are 2 for £2 in M at the moment, but I wouldn't bet on them comparing:rotfl:. Besides, it's all expensive as, based on our prices, a 6 pack should be well cheaper than 50p - and the last ones I bought, which lasted all of two minutes:(, were 35p. I have no idea, these days, why anyone would pay 97p. Anyway... so, for those who were wondering, 150g Sensations are currently one of my most disliked items on the APG.

    Along with...

    Anchor Cheese again!!:(:(
Now they've gone from the 350g at £2 (which are still way in excess of my £5/kg price - and even that is probably too much) to the 500g at £2.74. So, it's still more than £5/kg!:( They compare against T at £5.00:eek::(, although at least they were N/A against M and W.

And I'm also unimpressed, from my own buying (or rather not buying:money::rotfl:) point of view, with ('fresh') Chicken Breast Fillets. Besides my guide price probably being around £1 for a 1kg pack or free with DTD, it all seems way too expensive for me and I have M with its "everyday pricing" again saying "that's only £5.99 per kg.!". :(Given that I am looking for absolute maximum of £5/kg, that price of supposedly "only" £5.99/kg is way beyond any expense I'd consider. So it completely rules it out for me. They can charge this though, by 'comparing' to competitors that are even more expensive, I think because people generally don't have any clue about prices on all but two or three items and because they must obviously be on a completely different plane of prices or what things should cost than the Elite are: all their perceptions of prices are probably at least two and a half times what things should cost! So, stores can fix at those levels.

Meanwhile, with having products on (not very good:rotfl:) offer prices, the impulse buys of major supermarkets seem just to ensure that people simply end up buying things they would never otherwise have bought at all and end up spending far more money than they intended. I think I read the other day that people generally spend £30 more on every shopping trolley! That's a huge sum - I don't think I could spend £30 in total:rotfl:. No wonder that some people give this as a reason why they have switched to supermarkets like Aldi. Someone elsewhere on t'internet said that they used to spend £80 a week (and we regularly see bills way in excess of that) in Mr A but, now they shop at Aldi, they tend to spend £30 as they don't end up picking up all the impulse buys (presumably including the tempting biscuits and crisps). I can see that myself - huge supermarkets with vast ranges just encourage you to walk past lots and lots more items and have you buying things you didn't need - even though Aldi and Lidl don't tend to be any cheaper than A or T on most things - but, yet again, tend to be same price - for example products are usually merely at the same price as the SP/Eday Value ranges of some items, but I get the impression that people more generally have the impression that Aldi and Lidl are cheaper on a lot of these items when this is not the case.

It's all about impressions and perceptions though - and I could see last Saturday, when I was at Aldi - getting an item on which A is much more expensive - the car park and store were absolutely packed:( whilst, a few minutes either side, there didn't seem many people at A. (I don't like packed stores as worse time to be there is when everyone else is - they're unlikely to have left any wombles before or whilst they are doing their shopping anyway and best time to go is therefore just after everyone else has finished their shopping - be contraire to everyone else is the way to go:money: - there's also this "throng" effect on the majority of people, whereby the crowd causes you to buy a lot more items that other people are buying - indeed, I detect this is the case: last Monday I was only having to look (or, rather, stare:eek:) at an item, thinking a lot about whether it was any good - and, I noticed that, as I did so, another customer who, until that point, had seemed moving around in the background seemed to have been attracted by my attention on the product - and they went back and picked one up and took it. I think there is a "joint attention" thing with most people:D! Doesn't work on me:rotfl::rotfl::T:j:rotfl:. I ruled the product out as being too dear:rotfl:. There I am - causing other people to spend more money:naughty::rotfl::(. Their fault:p - if they can't even see and stop their own psychological impulses and drawings towards certain things about which they are not fully consciously aware:D! (I reckon they saw me looking at it, which drew their attention to the same product, whereupon they saw the price and then, it seems to me, probably thought the product was good at that price and bought it.))

That'll give you some afternoon reading!! I'll go now - see you!:wave:

    I'm going out tonight :j:j

This will be the first time since I can't even remember and certainly before littleman was born, grandma and grandad are babysitting.
When I asked mum if they could babysit her first response was "why love" ....

I've just been hunting in my wardrobe to see what I can wear.... I've really no idea, I bought some of those patterned trousers I've not even worn them yet and Mr monkey called them pyjamas:eek: so he's put me off them:( they're already a little out of my comfort zone but I liked them when I saw them.

Now I'm as bad as tiny and dress gate;)

My other alternative is my skinny jeans, dressy top and dare I try heels.....????

We're only going for a meal, but I have to say I'm a tad excited:o

The trick is to have a ban on any discussions about house, home, children or work - its not easy

Not read back yet but wanted to comment on this Mt2m.
I love patterned trousers/leggings and they seem very "in" to me. Not that I'm an expert. I would go with the trousers and heels for sure. Have a great time, you deserve it xx

Is anyone still a member of the marks premier club or is it just me?

Just an odd thing I noticed. In your birthday month they send you a voucher for an afternoon tea for 2 - its worth £10 - sandwiches, scone, tea etc. It's been the same for years.
I noticed in the cafe the other day they have revamped it and it now includes a mini jam tartlet and mini muffin - from there one bite and it's all gone range and now charging £12.99 - quite a price hike for not much more.
I wondered about the vouchers for people with birthdays from may onwards - if they had been altered to reflect the changes - or are they giving people just the original cream tea.

And come to think of it the next set of coffee vouchers has not arrived either ..

Yes it's very hard to think what you did talk about before kids - must have been something.

I'll be soon to let everyone know good or not so good. I think I have passed but would like bragging rights :rotfl: no kidding just be happy to pass.

How you feeling this week ? Glad to see you having plenty rest xxx

I'm sure you will have passed :)

When I was sitting exams (got my UK qualifications last year) I too said I would have been happy just to pass. Funny thing is though that when I did get my results and saw that I had passed, I then got disgruntled because the marks were not as high as I would have liked ... there is just no making some people happy :rotfl:

I shall keep my fingers crossed that you get the results that you are hoping for.
