Possible glitch on Haagen Dazs minis when buying 11 in store, and if you're still on old, work out less than 20p each

Forgot to post earlier, my ex netto has quite a few ice creams (Viennettas, Ben & Jerrys etc) RTC.

The 100ml Vanilla Haagen Dazs mini pots are 80p and showing at £1.50 in A and any 2 for £2 in W (only one other flavour in the multi according to MSM and W so should work).

I was going to add them to yet another Go Cat shop as that's still 1.27 for 2kg in my store (chicken/duck/rabbit), and works out at 44p after APG when buying 11 - I'm sure it's breeding as I've already cleared them twice :o but I've absolutely no room to put a fag paper in my freezers at the moment so didn't try.

    Might help somebody :)

Love ice cream but am on slimming world.

I do have cats however and I must have missed the go cat. If you don't mind what's the deal? Could do with a cat food glitch. X

I've messed up the meal plan OH left for me  and it means I'm a day behind with my sausages. Will they be ok one day OOD? or will they kill the children? :o

TS you needn't answer.......you've built up immunity to things that grow on OOD food  :p

Can I join in the group hug for Sal too......I'd like to be on the outside though :)

Most fresh food will be OK a day or two after use by date but if you're not sure does it look OK and does it smell OK if yes to both then it will be fine to use you could always make sure its well cooked and piping hot to be on the safe side

Am I allowed to answer? :D

I would eat it. The only time I wouldn't is if the packaging is obviously blown and have had that with in date stuff on occasion.

I know I am not the best to answer as I eat things very out of date, but eyes and nose best indicators. ;)

According to the news we have had deflation for the first time in 50 years.

I wonder do they look at weights/sizes of packs etc given how many reductions we have seen with downsizing?

Good question, I bet they don't! My contention has been that they are including the wrong items in their basket - it depends what you look at as to whether prices are increasing or not and, with yo-yoing offers, it really makes no odds - I suspect they just happen to have a lot of items that happen currently to be on "special offer" in more stores at the moment. Yet, if that were the case, wouldn't they be showing huge increase one month (price back up to full) then down again (for the offer). The changes in some items that I see certainly do not seem to have any relation to the rate of 'inflation' or rising costs - Birds Eye Breaded Cod yesterday (in A) £2.77, now £3.98. That's not a 0.1% decrease! Yet the same product did go from £3.99 (or whatever, I paid no attention to that!:D) about a month ago to £1.99 in M where it has stayed - until the expiry of the current offer, when I suspect it will shoot right up again - probably to £3.99 and probably then have an "eday low price" label on it:rotfl:!

I suppose it's 'swings and roundabouts' - yet, is not the inflation stats collection a manual process, where they get their price checkers to check various items in various stores - and we know what happens with manual collections - namely, some figures, somewhere must be in error. I don't agree that the current rate is the current rate - I demand a recount!:D:rotfl: And, of course, several years ago, they moved from RPI to CPI, under which that immediately saw the rate of inflation appear to be lower than [Strike]was in fact the case[/Strike] would have been the case if RPI had been used. The CPI is now said to be -0.1% but, if RPI had been used, would it have been negative?

Also the rate of "inflation" is measured compared to a year ago - so... it depends on what your starting point is.

As for your question, what a good question! I think I'll ask them.

Food companies and supermarkets err on the side of caution for fear of being sued and other things food. That is OK one side of midnight won't suddenly go off. the other side most food will be OK for a. couple of days after if kept chilled
