Well for those of you that want to jump on me for what i'm about to say jump away i'm very thick skinned ive had to be all my life
both my parents were alcoholics i grew up seeing them drunk fighting and arguing every day...sadly my mum got breast cancer which eventually after 18 months took her life.
after she had died my dad got very depressed all of us kids got him help councelling taking him out not leaving him alone much etc etc.
a year to the day of my mum dying he took his life. no note / explanation nothing..i accept he missed the drinking fighting with my mum but he gave no thought to those he left behind. my kids worshipped the ground he walked on and 11 years later now and then ill have to deal with one or more of them in tears still wanting to know why...i still look at his photo ask say "why dad "
my brother had a nervous breakdown after dad took his life hes now living in a secure unit suffering from extreme depression, so yes i understand people suffering from depression do look for ways out.
that being said i agree with sal it is a selfish act because for whatever reason those that do it are not thinking about those they leave behind especially their children, and the children suffer tremendously for years after and its something they will never get over....i know my kids wont...i know my brother will probably never leave the institution hes in...I sincerely hope my dad is looking down seeing the devastation hes left behind.......
I know many of you have had dealings with depression in one way or another but how many of you are the child of someone that took their own life ?
now jump away as you please0 -
Such sadness on here , nothing I can add that hasn't been said.
RIP PrincessMelody, hope the angels are playing your tune. Thoughts to her loved ones, and strength to all those suffering. x0 -
So en route to the washing machine shop we had a look at the Sainsburys Tu sale as another distraction technique
They have some nice stuff including white bootleg jeans - nowhere sold them last year as they were not fashionable - the only ones I managed to get were some in the marks outlet shop - so I got a pair which said they were regular length.
Needless to say they fit great but are too long - at 5 3 and a half I am obviously not regular. So I rang them up and needless to say they don't have short and have no idea if and when more stock might or might not arrive.
Plan b is to ring my other sainsbobs in the morning and see what stock they have - easy enough for me to get to on the train.
So much for keeping things simple this week ...“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
