thanks bessdog...dipping our toes in on behalf of DS1 who likes the look of manchester...he's happy to go into halls for first year but wants to be a little out of the action but easily reachable for the following years.
We are floating the idea of purchasing somewhere but alot depends on price etc...
He is very sold on the course at Manchester at the moment and its actually his first choice over Oxford...a lot can change in a year but he does like to forward plan...hence any suggestions welcome!

Buying is a great idea... from a mum who is paying £120 per week for a hole for DS2!

SFSB really sorry that they have taken this stance hope you stick around anyway. Well done to LS ds, I know that you can request cancellation slots for the driving test so might be worth looking at that, mind July will be here before you can blink and he can practice more:)

    Thank you. :)
    Well done your DS!
Have you looked at a neighbouring area? When looking into booking my DS's test we found that travelling a few miles into another area meant he could book quicker.

Thanks! I actually did that back when I passed my test (3rd time!). For him though, I don't think it would be great. I'm noticing with his dyslexia that signs (on roundabouts for example, telling you which lane is to go where) are quite difficult for him to read, so it will be better for him to do it in our town which he knows, then he can get confident at driving other places in his own time, and not on the pressure of a test. There is one week when we're back from holiday and before I go into hospital, so if I book if for that week, fingers crossed he'll pass and that will be really handy as I won't be driving at least 6 weeks.

Thanks to the other well dones too, I would have quoted but thought I'd reached my limit, then it let me quote the one below as well!:rotfl:

    Universal hotels are amazing :j:j:j
You will love it , which universal hotel?
Oh no you have me started on my biggest love in the world Orlando, any help you need let me know we spend far too long/not long enough there (depending on who you ask):D

Ha ha, my biggest love in the world is Disney Cruise Line! We were hoping to do one whilst in Florida, but it didn't work out that way as they didn't release the reduced prices as I'd hoped. So we have a pretty flying visit there - 5 full days (will be mid July). Thats why I picked Universal, as tickets are cheaper than Disney and we haven't done the Universal parks. Kids are Harry Potter nuts so they can't wait. We're staying at the Royal Pacific for the one night, as that was the cheapest out the three that do the extra hours and front of line. :)

Absolutely ridiculous, remind them that it is your birthday and everyone will sit where you want them to, tell them to stop being so childish:mad:

Would you believe the couple who the hoo ha is about don't even know there is one on their behalf, even though I sat them with another family member and their family who are also unaware of what has been said.

I am really fuming inside that it was ok to come and spoil it for me, why couldn't thoughts be kept to themselves and me none the wiser. I know in the grand scheme of things I should let it go over my head but I would never dream of doing anything like it to anyone else. I think a lot of OH's family but unfortunately at the end of the day they are always right (or think they are).

My DS passed this theory test today, first time. He is very proud of himself (as of course am I!). We booked the voiceover for him due to his dyslexia, and that really helped.

Just checked to book his practical, and there is a two month wait, literally no dates in June at all, first available is 13th July but we'll still be away then. Can't believe you have to wait that long!

Ladyshopper, well done to your DS. :T:T:T
