    In order:

    Ganache

-300g of dark chocolate (at least 60% cocoa)
    -300ml double cream
    - A rounded teaspoon of unsalted butter (not marg for this one).

Chop up chocolate and put into a bowl with the butter. Gently heat the double cream in a saucepan. As soon as it starts boiling, remove from heat and pour over the chocolate. Gently keep stirring until it has all melted and is combined. Leave at room temperature to cool down. If you want the consistency to be thick, but runny leave for about an hour, for piping or filling leave at room temperature for a few hours then whisk before using.

    If time is a factor...

    Chocolate buttercream

This will fill and cover a cake, halve quantities if just using for a filling.

    - 350g icing sugar
    - 50g cocoa powder
    - 100g unsalted room temperature butter
    - 1-2+ tablespoons of semi skimmed or full fat milk

Chuck all in a bowl with 1 tablespoon of milk, whisk. Drip feed milk in until you've reached a consistency that you want. Generally if you take a spoon full and hold it up without the buttercream sliding off, it's good to go :)

    Chocolate fingers

Two and a half small boxes for a 7 inch cake.

    Alternatively

Ignore all this and read this:

    :D x

Sure I poured choc into cream as I was whisking it but might have been an American receive.
Thanks On other tips. Could I use a chocolate ice cream sauce as sponge filling or would it soak into cake?

After a weekend away and time on the road picking up (Essex) and delivering (Rochdale) bags of donations for Romania, including picking up a hitch-hiker on my way back as a little Jack Russell called Ruby was desperate to get from kennels near Retford to a foster in Chatteris which is only 12 miles away from me, I have finally caught up. As well as not liking to post until I had caught up, I didn't want to post for other reasons i.e. our abusive AE Troll

Anyway, had a lovely but very tiring time in London on Saturday. We enjoyed the Grand Designs show and, with many thanks to purpledonkey, had a great time at London Pet Show. It was lovely to meet you PD :j :j :j There was a fellow Romanian Dogs group at the Pet Show so met up with them, and met Fleur, a dog from Valgreys, who was presented with an award at the show. Had a meal near Downing Street and got caught up in 'demo' which blocked the road. My friends had to stop me having a go at them for what I saw on their banners but if I'd have known that they had defaced the War Memorial, they wouldn't have been able to stop me   They lacked respect not only for our democratic election system but also for veterans on VE Day:mad:

Anyway, The whole weekend and long hours on the road took it's toll on me and I am still recovering. I am fine when I am doing these things but I do may for them afterwards

VT - LOVE your painting, use of colours and shading wonderful. Please don't do too much more work on it ;)

Nannylala - enjoy your little break with your friend and I look forward to those pics of your new arbour :D

Right, time for bed for me I think

Oh, except one more thing - I checked APG site and I finally have the new version :( Will check on old laptop tomorrow

    Night Night all

    Debt-free and Proud!
Ladyshopper I used uber for the first time on Monday. Was really easy. Got £20 free credit from Savethestudent so a 50 minute cab from central London only cost me £14. Felt so luxurious! And it's cool watching the little car drive around as it makes its way to you.

A small warning (based on stuff friends have told me)
Don't book one drunk and keep an eye on the type of car you're booking. One friend accidentally ordered an 'executive' car and ended up paying £90  the basic car is an uberx

In the UK anyway. Night night pooped
    Debt free 6th December 2014 :)

It would soak into the cake :(

Whisking chocolate into whipped cream makes a mousse like consistency. Generally not stable for holding a layer of cake on top unless you make it quite a thin layer. Hope that helps!

    Xmas Saver!
im still catching up so may have missed all the posts your post has generated.
why can you not accept criticism when ppl wont see it your way?lots of ppl have been nice to you and also politely asked you to tone it down or go to another thread where there are like minded ppl to argue with.
it seems to me that because you cant have your own way , that you feel the need to start insulting ppl, especially TWEETS, who is one of the nicest ppl I have come across on this thread, and the comment was totally uncalled for.
we have all voted and have accepted the result, and unless you intend to organise a coup, you will have to accept it too, so please stop preaching cos its too late, the election was last week.
why do you keep on , when you live in scotland, where there is a seperate parliment anyway.
if we all bow to your infinite wisdom , will you shut up and go away?
we are all free to have our own opinions as we live in a democracy, unlike other countries such as north korea where views like yours would get you executed without a vote.
I have nothing against ppl on this site getting as many bargains as they can , while they can.it is not for you to judge these ppl or insult them for complying with the a5da guarantee.its there for everyone.
one of my friends from here is facing disicpling for posts that did not offend anyone and goes out of their way to help anyone, does not judge ppl or ram their political view on to everyone else but still may be banned, whilst you seem to revel inthe fact that you want to be banned and have decided to do all you can to insult everyone, while you still can.
my apologies to everyone else on the thread for going on, but I can stand it when innocenr ppl are insulted when they have done nothing.
Lovely posters are leaving in droves because of you and its not fair.
please go and be politically obsessed elsewhere.
    have a nice day.

Oh the irony - it's hard to know where to start really :rotfl:

Because you are such a tolerant person aren't you...oh no actually you're not are you...well not if the people (note spelling of the word 'people') are from outside the UK with their horrid little 'ghettos' in your area where you live. Please.

Any advice were to read re: ice-cream would be greatly received.

Flip are you not on holiday.. I bet you have figured out a glitch in a supermarket in America.

Sadly it has not been a smooth ride for many people for many years, and it may get worse. But nothing can be done about it now and I avoid politics like the plague. Cup of tea?

I am with David, no need to defend yourself. It takes a brave man to stand up for someone else. :T

We all post stuff, sometimes it grates on others and sometimes it doesn't but it is part of being a large dysfunctional community.. aka the Elite!

No but I did manage to blag 2 days in Disney parks and 4 bonus tickets for the water parks :) which saved us having to spend 4 x £269 each as we didn't want 14 days unlimited access to Disney parks. We had 2 x 10 day hopper tickets that had no parks left on it but they took my word and issued us with 4 of the above. Which would have cost about $300 each just for that. So in the end they gave us £900 worth of what we needed for free. Spent the day in Magic kingdom and left about 9 and had 12 hours of hell for me cos I hate Disney lol but the kids loved it. Disney water park tomorrow and I'm gonna laze about in the sun all day and tan up a little.
