parcel2go refuse claim

Hi, unfortunately i didn't read the posts on this forum before buying a service from parcel2go.
Anyway i need advices about an issue regarding this company and their brutally ignoring attitude when a problem emerge.
I bought a service delivery from parcel2go to delivery a bike from a friend from Wales to Croatia. On the website i was asked if i want to cover the value of the bike. Myself i estimated the value of the bike at 100pounds. I was agree with the cost of coverage and the amount was added to the service cost.
So basically i insured the bike to an amount that i consider the what the bikes value is. The recipient was myself at the address of a relative (aunt) where i was assuming before that i'll be at the delivery date estimated. The bike was bought from Spain few yeas ago when i was on a trip so it doesn't exist invoice or a transaction prove.

The bike was lost, tracking service of parcelforce said that the parcel cannot be located so i was advice by livechat parcel2go to make a claim.

As anybody knows already they wouldn't make this process easy.
Despite the fact that the parcel is insured they ask me to prove value of the item. ??????????????????

"Please provide a screen shot of the payment transaction. Thank you!"

What should i do?

It's quite reasonable for them to request evidence of the value of the item before paying out the claim, this is normal practice for any insurance claim, and their insurers will be no different. Why does buying it in Spain mean that you have no receipt for it?

They don't ask that receipt. Anyway is irrelevant. The bike been used few years.
But by accepting my money for insurance for an amount that i considered ok i believe that should exist some kind of consignment that they accept that amount.
Other then that they should ask me the prove of value at that time, before taking my money for insurance.
There is a low that support my point of view?

When you insure your car or home they dont ask you to prove the value first only at the time of loss unless you have arranged an agreed value.

It is your responsibility to prove the bikes value not theirs and as others have said this is pretty much standard practice. It would be the same if you sent something though the Royal Mail or UPS or any other delivery/courier service

You could try sourcing a bike of the same make/model/condition/age.

Whether you paid for the bike personally or were given it as a gift, you have suffered a loss to that value - there should be no need to prove purchase - only to prove your losses.
