Good Morning everyone, dull and grey here again today but not cold, nice gentle breeze blowing just no blue sky. He Who Knows has gone to the allotlent to plant out courgettes, butternut squash plants and brussles sprouts plants for later in the year and I've just cooked the first quinoa I've ever experimented with. I had a read up and it's a complete protien, contains all the amino acids and bits that animal protiens do without all the fat. It's so very easy and I've made up a lovely tabbouli type salad with it with a gutsy chilli, soy sauce dressing and put in some baby tomatoes, spring onion, fresh parsley and feta cheese cubes and it's in the fridge waiting to be had with cheese on toast for lunch today. It's quite expensive to buy as a dry grain compared to rice, semolina etc. but if it's as good nutritionally as animal protiens it's worth the outlay. Cooks in 20 minutes too!!!
My next door neighbour is 'sitting' a 5 month old labrador for this week and I met him this morning, he's Leo and a squiggly squirmy solid bundle of joy. He's as naughty as they come but totally adorable and her own dog Brodie who is a black cocker spaniel is being very good about having another dog in his territory but is looking lost and a little nose out of joint, poor boy.
Not much planned for today but we may take Docky out to somewhere different for his afternoon walk if we get some sunshine which will be nice, might even have a cuppa out too, reckless or what?
Have a good day everyone, Lyn xxx.0 -
Morning,((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))) a late post, had things to do first thing.
Car is now ready for our trip tomorrow, I have to pack the bag and check the list OH has done, must remember the cameras. I have the makings in the fridge of a picnic supper for us and also breakfast. We are staying in a Travel Lodge.......hence the supplies.
DD2's cat fed, he objected to being put out, I have a couple of battle scars, will be taking a thick towel with me tomorrow when we go to feed him on the way out.
Laundry on the line, it keeps going very grey but weatherforecast says its no going to rain....we shall see.
MOnday clean done yesterday, just have to put out my clothes for tomorrow and Wednesday, I will hang them on the wardrobe door, Wednesdays clothes aill be the last thing to go in the bag,
Loved the wedding pictures Judi, soldier looks a lovely little boy, you will be sad when they go back to SA.0 -
Hoping it'll brighten up soon so I can get my washing out to dry and shove the tortoise out in the garden for a bit.
Going to bake some soda bread today, and probably make some "bottom of the fridge" veggie soup too for dinner.
Have got an Approved Food order arriving at 12 (according to their text message!) so will be putting that away why hauling the cat out of the boxes and yelling.
I need to do some ironing too, so will psych myself up for that later on as well. Big deep breath...0 -
Afternoon all,
It's been a beautiful day here today, warm and sunny but really quite windy. Don't think it's here to stay though.
Cleaned through and started to amass a pile of stuff to take on Wednesday.
As much as I am looking forward to DD's Wedding, I will be pleased when it's all over and I am home to normality again! Sounds bad doesn't it?
Have a nice evening.0 -
Good evening everyone, well today has been lovely and sunny, although a bit windy.
Went to work today, feeling quite tired as I didn't sleep well last night, as DS was working late at the pub and didn't get home until gone 2.00am. As I thought, he couldn't get up for college this morning and didn't go in. He has gone to work again this evening, and I hope he will get up tomorrow for college.
DD has started her AS exams today and only has to go in when she has an exam. She had Psychology this afternoon and said it wasn't as bad as she had expected.
We had the rest of the lasagne for tea tonight, but not done anything else apart from washing our summer quilt, its on the line now dripping away.:)
Mrs LW how was the quinoa, it sounds lovely. I have been thinking of trying it as we are trying to eat a lot more veggie now. I did see a post elsewhere from someone saying you can grow your own, so something I am thinking about.
Hugs to all and have a good evening.SPC 11 #4450
