Can anyone recommend please?

I think that I have settled on a Prunus Mume Beni-Chidori (I am looking for a compact blossoming tree), but am really struggling to get one locally at a garden centre.

Can anyone suggest a supplier where you can order on the Internet and get delivered?

You could look at the RHS website at find a plant and see if they can direct you to a seller. This has worked for me in the past. Otherwise googling the plant with the word 'buy' in the front or using the shopping option on google search might help. There are lots and lots of good plant sellers using Internet as a vehicle for sales now. The majority of our tree purchases are online ones for example.

    Thanks lostinrates :)

Which ones have you used before that you are happy with?

Finding an online seller isn't difficult, but would like to know which ones are reputable.

I've used a few, often specialists in some sort of thing.

More generally Crocus is ok but not the cheapest. Have to say though, we were disappointed with a purchase from there this spring ( sale price but reordered stock). Tbh, too many good retailers too list :). Online sellers for ornamental trees have been ok for us. We usually buy in sales and have to plant late in planting season and need to baby a bit through summer but get sizer specimens for price paid.

With you potential seller, look at the about us page as you might any seller and see what sort of business they seem to be.

We've just planted a wood of mixed trees. Got them in 2 separate batches/orders from Hopesgrove Nurseries in Kent. Service and quality were superb. Strongly recommended! Ordered on line.

    But they* don't sell it!

I could equally praise Buckingham Nurseries, but they don't seem to sell it either.

Hilliers can source just about anything, but otherwise, if forced to choose, I'd go Burncoose.

*Incidentally, a few of the trees I received from Hopes Grove died or went back to base and re-grew, but that was because I was daft enough to buy them late and they were daft enough to sell them as bare root in April!
