Selling my house without further debt

I'm moving to Africa for 2 years and am planning to sell my house to help with expenses. I need a new bathroom, I already have a large overdraft and am finding many costs involved in getting the house ready to sell. Can I put these costs on a 0%card and pay it off when I sell the house?

What exactly is wrong with the bathroom/house?
The first thing I would do is get an estate agent round to value to house as it is now, and also with whatever hypothetical improvements you plan to make, to make sure that you are at least likely to get a return on those improvements.
Personally, so long as the place is livable, I'd be inclined to take 3k (or whatever) less for the house in its current condition, rather than faff getting new stuff put in, which prospective buyers might not even like. It's a lot of hassle, especially if you also need to come up with the money somehow.0 -
This raises a lot of questions, a few of which are:
- Do you have a 0% card?
- Are you likely to get one (as your finances don't sound good)?
- If it's a 0% on spending card - do you want to find a bathroom fitting firm that accepts credit cards? (Typically, such firms are much more expensive.)
- Are you confident that you will 'make a profit' by fitting a new bathroom (e.g. have you asked EAs etc)?
- Are you confident that you can get the bathroom finished and the house sold during the 0% period?0 -
Is your bathroom vile colour like avacardo or pink?
If so I would buy a new white suite.
If your bathroom set is cream or white, I would just give it a good scrub.
Start decluttering to make your place look bigger. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
Will a new bathroom add more to the sale price than it'll cost? Are you ABSOLUTELY sure about that?0

I have a similar problem.
Property to sell in need of repair, bad credit, no extra funds.
I have had the estate agents round and they recommend getting the roof repaired and redecorating to secure a sale. I need £3000 to make good.0
