Mortgages and self employed 2nd Job

Hi all,
hopefully this is a simple question but but I can't seem to find an answer to it so fingers-crossed you experts can help.
Basically I have a full time job and my wife is self employed with 4 years of accounts and we're currently saving for a deposit for a mortgage.
I have been considering registering as self employed and starting a small online business while still maintaining my full time job. I have no intention of quitting my full time job.
I don't expect to be making a much profit to begin with in the new business, so would not necessarily want the bank to take this income into consideration.
Therefore my question is this; Would being self employed while also full time employed have any negative effect on applying for a mortgage? for example would they require I have 3 years of accounts or something else I have not considered?
Many thanks

The lender won't need accounts to prove income you're not using for affordability.Slummy mummy!0
