Rogerblack-thanks. The only income I'd get if not sacked would be SSP. I would of course not be working.
So....to clarify-if I'm on SSP but still employed-I can claim cont. based ESA?0 -

I kinda guessed that Lindyloo. So....best to be sacked or give notice?0

Blondebubbles-no-over 18k I'm afraid. Rogerblack-so in the highly unlikely event PIP was offered-it can be paid before a visit to the PIP designated health care checker?0

PIP is a non means tested benefit for people with care/mobility needs.
You apply, complete an application form and then wait for a face to face assessment to see if they think you are entitled.
There is a useful guide here:

There is quite a long waiting time to be assessed for PIP so it will not help with your current situation.
I am sure you don't want to go into details on an open forum but it is very difficult for people to advise you without knowing the extent of your current situation.
If your partner continues to need you to care for her then you may be best (since you are feeling unwell yourself and your doctor will give you a fit note) to apply for ESA. This may give you some 'breathing space' to see how things pan out in the future.
It seems that your partner works for a while and then claims ESA for a short period. Does this mean that she has never been put in an ESA group and has always remained in the assessment phase before before going back to work?
When you claim any disability benefits there is always, at some point,an assessment to find out if you qualify. This assessment relies heavily on the support of medical professionals. Has your partner received an help/support/medication from doctors or other professionals?
I do not mean to pry but if your health problems are being caused by anxiety about your partner then it would seem imperative that she gets some support so that you can eventually get back into work.
Hope this isn't too intrusive.0 -
No-you've been great. Will put in a c/tax & h/benefit claim & see where we go from this week after the meeting. Your help is much appreciated.0
