Hi all,
I currently have a Nationwide 0% new purchase CC max'ed out and the deal expiring mid Nov-2015. Although I have the cash to clear the balance I am thinking of applying to another CC and shift the debt over. At the moment Tesco is offering 18mths 0% No fee.
Questions:
When applying, if they ask for balance to transfer, should I state the right amount or more (I believe I cannot "lie" about this).
How long before my existing deal expire should I apply for the Tesco (or any other) card? 6-8weeks?
Comments are appreciated.

I've just successfully applied for the Tesco 18 month card. During the online application you're asked if you want to make a BT. If you say yes (via radio button), you're given your credit limit and max BT amount on the following page. The max BT allowed is 95% of your credit limit.
Re timing, I applied on Tuesday and I got my PIN Friday. Even though the BT hasn't yet completed, it looks like they're very quick off the mark.0 -
Be careful with the Tesco BT card; there have been a few posts on it. The BT doesn't happen until after the card has been activated and some people have reported an issue with the BT figure going through twice forcing them over limit.0

YB, does it mean that if the credit limit is "no use" for you, yu can cancel the application process and hence not leave a search on your file????0 -
It's only a hobby these days pardal, although I've been fortunate to bag 4 fee-free deals (Santander, Halifax, Sainsbury's, & Tesco) since December last year. But long gone are the days of £80K+ stoozpots and £250 a month net income!YB, long time my friend....One of the stoozer masters :T0 -
The search will have already been made. As far as I know Tesco do not do an eligibility (soft search) check first.YB, does it mean that if the credit limit is "no use" for you, yu can cancel the application process and hence not leave a search on your file????
My limit was low this time (around £4K, compared with £8K last time), but I still took it and am muling through MBNA.0 -
