A holiday cottage or mobile home, out of season, perhaps. But July? No. Not unless you're willing to pay peak-holiday-season prices.
Another vote here for talking to the landlord. Be reasonable. Explain your dilemma and that there is a hard-and-fast date on which you WILL be out.0 -
Serve your own notice. That'll help give confidence to your landlord.0

looks like we will go with the other suggestion first. I.e. write to landlord and tell him the facts. And what the situation is.
as you said it sounds like an official response in writing is not expected. So I can only try again to get a gentlemans agreement from him.
