Stopping credit card/loan letters

Is there any way to stop credit card/loan letters from Halifax? Seems at least once a week i get a letter asking me if i want a credit card or a loan from Halifax (i do bank with them). Im not interested but they dont seem to take the message

Its getting to the point i may stop banking with them, as they dont get the message i dont want a credit card or a loan

What "message" have you sent them?...


Have you opted out of direct mail via their website?
Or called at branch to opt out of paper mailshots?
Or something else?

Ive rung them and asked to be removed from the mailing list. This was months ago and i still get the letters

Why bother trying to stop them, treat them like any other junk mail, throw them in the recycling bin.

Open each letter, put some corn flakes inside, then send it back to them in their prepaid envelope, and blame it on your niece/nephew/

Some of these letters have a partially prefilled application form with name and address already populated. Barclaycard springs to mind so these need to be shredded and not just placed in recycling.
