Not horse racing or even bird watching .
    Not star gazing.

Would have been clearer if I had started at the beginning !
Wife has just joined the Nat Trust and the freebi is a pair of binoculars
So she said, why dont you get a pair, ( then you won't be borrowing mine )

So I can imagine her saying ... look at that!
    And I can't .

So nothing moving , nothing at night.
So I started to look at a few places on the web and got very confused.

I got left from my Father in law a pair of

DDR Carl zeiss multi coated jenoptem 8 x 30w

No idea of the age , but the case looks fairly new ( or at least not abused)

Are these worth keeping , or are they on par with the freebi from the Nat trust

My son has some and persuaded my wife she needed some too. I wondered why he called them Jesus binoculars until I saw the price tag....

Several years ago I used to work as a volunteer for the RSPB at one of their reserves, one Saturday a guy bought a pair of £1600 Swarovski's for himself at their shop then came back an hour later and bought another pair for his wife.

Have a look at the RSPB site you can get a good pair of 8x32 or 8x42 for around £100.

A pair the same as your wife in magnification or you still might not be able to see the same things.

Looks like the free pair are the 8x21 £10 on ebay.

Have you compared them with your wifes?. I suspect they may be better.
