Laptop password changed to BLANK but not recognised

Trying to fix a Samsung Chronos 7 laptop, and was sick of the password screen at every start up...
I entered the old password in BIOS settings then pressed ENTER in the new password and ENTER to confirm new password (ie I presumed that the new password would remain blank until I fixed the system error and revert back).
Now I cannot access anything as the 'blank' password does not work and neither does the old password. This is the 'System Password' and not the Windows 8 password.
Been trying 3 hours here with no change - would very much appreciate any help.

You may well have tried it but is there a possibility that you left a space in the password box when pressing Enter?0

Many thanks, but I just entered on blank then entered to confirm on blank… then f10 to save and exit, then restart.
V much appreciated your quick advice though0 -
Why change it to blank? Just turn off the requirement to need a password....Job done.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Ah! OK, I see now. Do you have nothing on the laptop or is it just the BIOS you can't enter?Sorry RumRat, but thanks.. it was done and clearly should not have been done this way. Now I'm asking for help....
Normally on a desktop removing the CMOS battery would work.
