email Stewart Milne Homes - Defects

My daughter recently purchased a new build from Stewart Milne Homes. The house has developed some major defects which she has reported to SMH. Unfortunately they are being very awkward and slow to respond, to the point that she now wants to go straight to the top. Unfortunately there are no direct email address to Stewart Milne or his 2 IC. Anybody help with this, or can suggest another route?

If you look on the Stewart Milne site their email addresses seem to be in the following format - initialsurname@stewartmilne.com as on this page for example http://www.stewartmilne.com/Career-Contacts.aspx
So someone called John Smith would be likely to have an email address of jsmith@stewartmilne.com
If you know the name of the person you want to contact you can work out the likely email address and give that a try.
This press release includes a quote from a John Slater, Group Managing Director - Homes - so you could try contacting him if you didn't know anyone else's name.0 -
If it's major issues just go straight to NHBC and get them involved. They will deal with it for you.0

I'll give it a try, thanks.0

If this is the same Stewart Milne Homes I'm thinking of, they were bought out by Barratt a number of years ago...0

NHBC are useless, all they'll do is write to the builder asking them to respond, and then when they don't respond they'll write again, and so on. That's not to say not to contact them, but be aware they'll probably frustrate you as much as the builder!0 -

If its the Stewarty Milne that I've know for many years, then they won't give a fig about the OPs problems.
Sorry but they are amongst the most mercinary, shoddy, poorly managed building firms I've ever encountered.
Personally, I see Milne often at the Holburn Junction lights in Aberdeen, so If I had a problem, I'd be inclined to wait there and take it up with him in person! :mad:0 -
That's weird, pogofish, my parents' house was one of a development built by Stewart Milne in the early 1970's, they haven't had any problems with it (which I suppose may be a good thing from you said).
Although, it seems Stewart Milne Homes was bought up not longer after I was born in 1974 by Barratt Homes, iirc, and we all know the joke about them, yes?0 -
Stewart Milne Homes are not owned by Barratt, and their new builds are better than most.0
