Hi,
I have 5 years NCBand I have 2 cars.
1.) which I use daily
2.) which is an vintage car.
I used 5 years NCB for 2 of these cars, although they are not insure in the same company.
I bought a van and insured it. I sent them my NCB but I was told that one NCB can be used only with one company (car).
This sound crazy for me as I already have two insurance policy and both company accepted my NCB.
IS it right that you can use NCB only with one company?

One ncb for each vehicle ....so you now need three.0

Vintage car could have classic insurance which I believe doesn't use or earn ncb.0

so I have to pay as for 0 year NBC for the first year and after a year I will get my 5 years NCB for my van?0

To get 5 years on your new van you have to keep claim free in the van for a complete total of 5 years.
Then when you go to buy your year 6 policy for the van you will have 5 years.0 -
so it doesn't matter that I already have 5 year NCB for my car??
No as it can only be applied to one vehicle at a time. Some companies may look to "mirror" your bonus which means they look to give you some discount as a way of acknowledging your driving history but it may not be at the same level that your proper NCB attracts. You would be better off speaking to a broker (not Swintons) to see if that can be arranged for you with an insurerFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
No. You need to "earn" bonus by way of being a policy holder.so it doesn't matter that I already have 5 year NCB for my car??
What you could do is find out if the van is more expensive than your car to insure (based on 5 years NCD).
Then if so swap your van onto the car policy (assuming the insurer will cover the van), use the NCD on the van and buy a new policy for the car.
Although you will have nil NCD for the third vehicle you should be able to get an introductory discount for the third vehicle. (And see what your current 2 insurers will do if you bring them the business)0
