Bathroom bath product & fitting query

Options
Question 1
Based on advice in this forum, we're opting for a Kaldewei steel bath. But which is better value for money:-

Formplus 2.3mm thick steel with 1 year guarantee @ £80-100
or
Saniformplus 3.5mm thick steel with 30 year guarantee @ £180-200

Other manufacturers make to British standard of only 1.6mm thick. Kaldewei claim their 3.5mm bath is virtually chip and scratch proof.

We are on a budget. We intend to move home next year perhaps.

Question 2
Bargain priced floor tiles at B&Q @ £4.99/sq.m. We want a matched floor and wall look and using them on the walls too would mean less wastage. Can floor tiles be used on walls?

Question 3
Looking for a ladder style radiator on ebay. What should we look for in terms of chrome plate quality? If they corrode quickly we'd be inclined to just get a white one.

Question 4
We bought a bath mixer tap with shower attachment but now wonder if we can regulate the temperature with a thermostat. Is that possible or have I bought the wrong product?

All advice gratefully received!;)

I'd go for the more expensive one as it will last you much longer.

    Question 2

Yes of course, but you can't use some wall tiles on floors.

    Question 3

They have these on offer in B&Q for about £30, make sure you add inhibitor and it should be fine. Screwfix also have the same one on offer-

They also have a couple more in the clearance section.

    Question 4

You need a thermostatic one to be able to regulate the temperature!

Thanks for the very helpful advice. Straight off to B&Q then!

Now choosing the basin and wc....we have decided to go with a wall-hung basin to free up floor space and create a modern look.

We are thinking about a wall-hung wc too but what with the metal mounting frame and concealed flush, this would be pricier than a floor-standing wc and once tiled over, might be inaccessible for maintenance/leaks.

    What do you think?

Also, how can we ensure a good colour match between our steel Kaldewei bath and our ceramic other brand basin and wc? Not all whites are the same and Kaldewei make 3 sorts ranging from creamy to ultra blueish white.

    Thanks for any tips.

Where did you find them at this price? Were they 1700 or 1800? Are you pleased with them?
    thanks
