Election's Over, Move Along, Nothing To See Here !!

So...... That's it, it's all over....
Apart from the odd minor change, UUP's Danny Kinahan taking South Antrim from DUP, Sinn F!in loosing Fermanagh and South Tyrone to the Ulster Unionists via a "Unionist Pact" and Alliance's Naomi Long losing to another DUP Robinson again via a "Unionist Pact".... Generally not much change so sod all changes here then really..... though seems (if you consider Lady Hermon an Independent Unionist) that the Unionist vote is up and Nationalist vote is down slightly which is a bit surprising.
Overall turnout not super in some places (Mid & West of the province) but pretty good in the East (over 70% in a couple of places)
Looking at the Conservative gains in GB, it looks like the DUP will NOT be the King Makers after all and in fact the 2 UUP MP's may have more of an input as they have tied up with the Conservatives before.......
BEWARE Northern Ireland...... The Axe of Austerity is being sharpened as we speak..... "Bedroom Tax", Benefit Caps, More Budget Cuts, Civil Service Redundancies ......... ALL on their way....
On other matters..
Can all those lovely little election campaigners now get back out in force and remove all those big ugly elections posters plastered just about every lamp post in the country..

PS... MODS Please do not move this to DT or the likes as it will die a lonesome death as most folk in GB wouldn't know a Northern Ireland MP if they had their names tattooed on their heads and they walked up and slapped them in the face

Just to add... I see CISTA (Cannabis Is Safer Than Alcohol) got 8,419 Votes, That's just over half of what the TUV got.... not sure how may were in Northern Ireland but I wonder if they were conscious for the count ??? 0

The only thing which cannot be argued against in my view is that as far the overall UK result goes, the pollsters, commentators and pundits got it completely wrong. Maybe there will be a shake up there.0

just 3 more seats to go... and the Axe is now ready....In economic terms, the Conservative victory is a vote for smaller government and less public spending - that will inevitably have an impact on Stormont's budget.0

I find it so depressing that such a large percentage of the population subscribe to the DUP mind set but hopefully the re emergence of UUP will take greater hold.0 -

I felt sorry for Naomi Long .I dont live in East Belfast but I thought she did a good Job there .
