Hi all, this is my first time posting please be gentle on me😊

I recently had some permernent make up applied which cost me £300, to get the appointment I had to pay a deposit of £50 to the make up artist by way of PayPal, she specifically stated to let her know once I had made the payment so that she could book me in, which I did. I then had the make up applied about 3 weeks later and paid her the other £250 in cash, no problems so far. Now as part of the total offer for £300 you get a second follow up appointment after 4 weeks which is just to make sure the make up has taken well to your skin and re-apply anywhere that needs touching up, my 2nd appointment is due in a couple of weeks. About 3 days ago I got an email from PayPal saying that the make up artist had failed to collect the £50 deposit money so PayPal cancelled the transaction and gave the money back to me, seeing as she has had over 3 weeks to collect that payment and she was the one who told me to pay by PayPal and let her know the payment had been made....do I have to repay her that money? I would like to know what my rights are before I see her again in a couple of weeks. Could she refuse me my 2nd appointment if I don't give her the £50? Or is she in the wrong for not collecting the money?

If you have the service and don't have any complaints then withholding the payment is wrong so you have no option here other than to do the right thing and withdraw the deposit money to pay her on the return visit.

If you fail to offer it then she can fail to come back and it will be your fault for not paying what is due, Be honest.

Well let's put it like this?
Would you like a permanent inked on moustache?
Out of interest , how did you choose this practitioner?

Hahaha no I would not like a moustache, it was actually my eyebrows I had done and she has done them very nicely but I do need a slight touch up so it looks like I will have to make the payment after all. I actually found her on Instagram, she puts up pictures of her work and she is very good.

I really don't get people of late on here trying to get out of payment, espicially to small businesses like her. She sounds like a one woman band and non payment would hurt her personally. Why would you want to do that to someone?

Just treat people like you want them to treat you and you would get much better service from her, if you said the deposit wasnt taken, heres the cash. She would respect you more and may even offer a small discount or a little extra.

Just for the record I have spoken to her and made the payment, I totally agree that good service should be paid for, it actually turns out that I had made a mistake by changing an l to an i in her email address so the payment wasn't going through, she thanked me for being honest (which felt good) and I'm sure she will do a lovely touch up job on my brows when I go to see her in a couple of weeks. Thanks to all who replied

Good for you, now you get the satisfaction of having done the right thing, and more importantly you've avoided the risk of having a small penis tattooed on your face at the followup appointment :-D
