Hotel suggestions for Copenhagen

Looking to book three nights in Copenhagen in July and was hoping for some suggestions - have read Tripadvisor until the reviews blur and I can't make head nor tail of anything.
I'm going with my American friend who is a nervous traveler, so central and safe vibe, good transport links and 'decent' (preferably with breakfast) would be the main criteria.
MSE people, any suggestions welcome.

What is the budget? And do you have an area in mind? I know you say central, but what do you want to be near Nyhavn? Tivoli?
This might suit your American friend, its near the station and Tivoli and about 20 mins walk from the centre, it is one of the more decent hotels in Copehagen with a very good breakfast. Overlooks the water on one side, not such a good view from the other side.

We stayed at The Square Hotel, moments from the Tivoli Gardens and an easy walk from the station. No complaints, excellent breakfast and a reasonable price. Can also recommend the Radisson Blu which is even closer to the station but more expensive. Do not book a hotel on street behind the station as this is the red light district,so although perfectly safe, would probably give your nervous American friend kittens!0

In April we stayed in Cabinn city hotel.
Clean comfy close to city centre and station. A few minutes walk literally.
We didn't have breakfast so can't comment but you can pay extra for it.
Hotel staff very friendly and helpful.
We was in the cheapest room and it was tiny!!! But as it literally just somewhere to sleep we wasn't too bothered. They cleaned our room, replenished towels, shampoo etc daily.
As there was three of us, teenage got to sleep in high bunk. OH slept on bottom bunk, I slept on a pull out, which was totally fine. Would imagine you'd just use bottom bunk and pull out.
Their motto is something like all you need to sleep and tbh I think it does what it says. So long as you are prepared for the smallness it's fine (think ship's cabin which where they got their name maybe??)

We stayed at Hotel Opera. It's not fancy but was clean, the breakfast was good and its location was great. Kongens Nytorv station, Nyhavn and Tivoli were all within walking distance. http://m.operahotelcopenhagen.com/0

If I went to stay it would have to be the Arne Jacobsen designed Royal Raddison Blu.
Copenhagen is a small place so location isn't too important. We walked the whole city in less than a day.0
