Dwarf sweetcorn

My sweetcorn doesn't seem very tall, ~3 or 4 foot. I was expecting it to grow alot taller to maybe 6 foot. But it seems already there are the seeds coming out of the top of the plant ready to start pollination. I wonder if it was due to the lack of warm sunny weather at the start of the summer.

Anyone else had this? First time with sweetorn this year too....

Hi jimbo,

It's my first time growing it too and mine is about the same as yours. The silks appeared about a week ago and now I have cobs growing :j so hopefully the height of the plant's won't affect the veg.

I had 2 grow to about 4ft and then had seeds at the top them the cobs formed grew tassels and dried of I picked some last week it was like big baby sweetcorn and aparently tasted like that. I don't like baby sweetcorn. I was dissapointed as I thought it would be proper corn so I have left the other cobs to grow. My other 2 sweetcorn plants have seeded and they are only about 2ft tall , but I did plant them in the garden after only a short time in the green house.
