SIPP withdrawal?

Hi,
My mother died suddenly and unexpectedly in just over a week. I was her carer & am her executor, but the sad event has left me pretty stretched financially, although I am currently being very careful and coping. I have a HL SIPP of around or slightly less than 40k. It might really help me through this fraught time - while Probate is applied for - if I could realise several k or more from the SIPP.
Can I do this please, and if so - how would I do it?
Many thanks.

So sorry to hear you've lost your mum. You must be completely shell shocked.
You will probably get more detailed help if you post on the Pensions board.
I know from your other threads that you are over 55 so you can indeed draw some of your SIPP, but please think very carefully before you decide as you're probably not in a fit state to make such a decision right now.

Thanks Badger but unfortunately I think I am getting pretty close to the 'needs must' region now.
Do agree totally that I may not be in quite the state of mind ideal for major decisions but my grieving process is now on hold because the real world has come crashing in on me, at a time when I most need peace and quiet to come to terms with my sadness I am attempting to preserve things like heat, lighting and telephone lines.0
