*UPDATE*
I have contacted the seller but they are denying receipt of the item (surprise surprise) and are checking with the 'warehouse'
I provided a copy of proof of posting along with photos of the item, the item packaged up and labelled etc.
It has been a week and still no reply and no money in my account so I sent another email yesterday asking when I should expect a refund and that if there's a problem then I will need to seek other ways to recover the costs.
24 hours and still no reply.
What would you do at this stage? It was paid using Visa Debit card so can resort to Chargeback if all else fails?

How much was it? Proof of postage doesn't prove they received it, so you might have to use the proof of postage to claim for lost item.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Did the returns label have Royal Mail on it?0 -
Get a refund from your card, and report to action fraud as aboveDo you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Ok before taking action, is it worth sending another email? It's been 11 days and still no response.
I am trying to draft something along these lines but want to add legal weight to it..
Dear Sirs,
I have not yet received a refund, or any response to my previous email after providing reasonable opportunity to do so (see below)
As you provided return postage, please note that you accept full legal liability for the item from the point it was handed to your agent (Royal Mail proof of postage attached)
I am acting under legal advice that if a refund is not provided within 5 working days, I will regrettably be forced to refer the case to Trading Standards to recover all associated costs.
I look forward to your prompt reply
Any advice appreciated!

Is it worth also having a chat with the Royal Mail fraud department. He's already been prosecuted for fiddling postal claims before (with Royal mail?) are Royal mail aware this same company are using their returns label to get fake goods returned then claiming non receipt?
Even get someone else to contact them
On face book with a query about their products just to
Prove the theory they are still running the business and replying to customers so they can't say staff were ill etc0 -
Brutal_deluxe, why don't you put a claim in to Royal Mail for your missing parcel?
Why haven't you asked your card issuer about a chargeback?0 -
I have put in a claim but no reply from Royal Mail yet. Its been about 2 weeks.
Barclays/Visa have denied a chargeback request.
I have notified Royal Mail of suspected claim fraud using their online form.
I have contacted Trading Standards and following their advice and now sending recorded letters.
I emailed the company using a different address and they replied immediately.
No way am I giving up (on principle). I have lots of time and resources. Anyone have any other ideas? Thanks so far
