Definition of 'purchase'

Options
Purchases can be all sorts of things, I guess, but can one buy services with a 0% credit card? For example, I would like to put my flat maintenance and ground rent etc charges on the card. Is this likely to be okay?

    Yes

You purchase a service just the same as you do a product. There are only a couple of exceptions like buying foreign currency or buying chips in a casino which counts as a cash advance rather than a purchase.

Of cause you have to find a company that accepts credit cards for these things which the vast majority dont.

  • My letter of acceptance tells me I can withdraw cash. Can I do this without voiding the 0% introductory period?

I saw something about cash withdrawal not being very kosher.

There will probably be a one off 3% cash transaction charge for making the withdrawal, even though there may be no other interest charged during the 0% period.

I would imagine cash advances arent included in the 0% interest period

Depends on the card provider and the deal, some do and some don't. If it's a long 0% period then I agree, most likely not included.
