Help .. Wallpaper (infact ceiling paper) is not coming off

Well, the builders are in the house trying to rip everything off, but they seem unable to take wallpaper off from ceiling of 2 rooms! They have tried scrapping, steaming but it doesn't seems to buzz... Any ideas?

first guess is that the ceiling wasn't sealed prior to papering, hard to say unless i've seen it and tryed a bit myself.

what kind of paper is it and how old is the house ?

The house is 1930's!! I think the paper had been on ceiling for 10-20 years..It's like glued to the ceiling. i will try and take a pic of the same in evening today!

Get one of these things, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stanley-Maxi-Orbital-Wallpaper-Scorer/dp/B0001IWE4G whizz it all over and then spray the whole area with water in a washed out window cleaner botle or something similar like a plant mister. Leave it to soak in for about half hour then scrape.
It got off even the most stubborn paper in our 30's semi

Hi there Dew, am pleased you have finally got someone, did you get them from where I suggested?;)

It wouldnt suprise me that the previous has added PVA in with paste to paper the ceiling, as ceilings can be quite tricky to get the paper to stick, once the first length is up and stays up lol, the rest is a doddle.

The only advice I can give you is similar to what Floyd has said, I have never used the tool he's mentioned, as I just do big crisscrosses with a sharp knife or blade.
And what I would do again is like what he says, but whilst the steamer is heating up, do the crisscrosses, get some really hot soapy water and a big pasting brush and slap the hot water on the paper.
Do this a couple of times, and the hot water will get in behind where you have crisscrossed, and when the steamer is ready, then go over the paper with that.
It should come off.

I have stripped hundreds of times, and never has it beaten me, I always get the damn paper off lol
