It's been said many times before, TA is to stocks what astrology is to the planets.

No, but I'm very interested in alien abduction. Any use to you?
  • I use it sometimes and do some trading systems based on it. For example, for the FTSE100 today, my systems suggest buy signals and I expect the index to climb back to 7100 again in a couple of weeks :) It's fun to look at the charts than FS. So that is why I want if you all like it we can share ideas :)

The most astute, well considered technical analysis will always be trounced by rns releases.

If financial markets were in any way predictable by technical analysis, surely the pros would have nailed it.

I'm thinking about how much computational power and mathematical smart is out there.
  • TA is just a tool. When you make a decision, you need a "reason". If a trading system created by TA or any fundamental tools works for you then you should follow it. Tbh, TA + experience plays the role here.
