Bob & Ziggy, thank you. Just one of those days, totally out of routine and I've just lazed around and binged. I did go and park up an hour early at the school though to get away from the house and did read a little. it got me out and away from the food cupboards!
Another day out of routine tomorrow too as Hubby is taking a day off in lieu but hopefully it'll be a better day and I'll wake up in a better frame of mind.

It really doesnt sound like you, you always sound very upbeat, but hormones, run down, who knows, it can get to us all. As Ziggy suggests, try and relax a bit if you can. Hope having your OH around will give you some time to yourself tommorow?

Didnt get chance to do a proper list this morning so just updating on the things from today.

    1. Found £1.93 had been added to my EF in interest, wow! The rate isnt great at only 1.4 but I am not really bothered as its easy access and does what it says on the tin. So that currently sits at £742.60
    2. The £200 the ombudsman have awarded me from their own coffers had arrived today, so I wrote out a paying in slip & stuck it straight in the postbox just now.
    3. Recieved £3 in tips today
    4. Cycled all journies
    5. Tidied all reciepts out of my purse from the day (business account)
    6. Personal NSD 4/20
    7. Opened all mail as soon as I came in. Kept envelopes for reuse as note paper, actioned anything needed, put all junk into the shredding basket.
    8. Checked both sets of banking.
    9. General tidy around the house to avoid clutter build up. A load on. Dry washing folded and taken upstairs. Bins emptied. Recyling emptied. Put sons clothes out for the morning/did lunchbox/his tea.
    10. Having 10 mins to myself on MSE before OH gets home to relieve me so I can go and vote, then he will.

Desperate - I will go and have a nose for your diary.
Purple - What have you done to your knee? Its horrible having to walk about when you have sore legs. Sorry to hear about your tax credits.
Japmis - Yep, sounds like a quick win right there.
Dawn - Always so envious of your fresh eggs, must be wonderful having that on tap.
GaLa15 - I used to do Cash4Clothes, dont have anything left now, but I got a few £££ which all helps.
Yorkshire - Sorry to hear you have the lurgy in your house. I am hoping personally not to buy any more school uniform this school year. I cant believe how close we are to end of term now. By the time you take out the May half term, its only a few weeks.
JoJo - Its great you are so organised on the xmas gift front. Im taking the view that having savings this year will be a huge plus instead of having to panic.
Bagpuss - Hope you are feeling ok today about Gran, etc?
Tash - It could be worse then on the change in pay cheque, glad to hear that.
Skint Paul - Hummm, Im not sure we should admit to indulging in gambling on this thread eh? (but cool you won :)
FVD - From yesterdays thread, thanks for the offer of your child for slave labour :) yes we are on opposite sides of the Thames I think. I have never paid my young staff the min wage for their age, its insanely low, around £3.60 or something for U18s. I always paid £5 min & they got a good lunch, breaks, & free hot drinks same as everyone else. Basically Im a great boss, except to myself :)

Right, people, really want a bath, so hoping OH isnt long so I can slope off and vote then come and sink into a big bubbly one.

    Bob

So... on the way back from the polling station I knocked on the door of the other house with the sold board and, to cut a long story short, they got the asking price for their house (ie £25k more than I accepted earlier in the year.) First thing tomorrow morning I will be calling the agent and pulling out of my sale/ I was never happy with the offer but they persuaded me to provisionally accept it and carry on marketing it, which I did, but this was back when it was still winterish.

I'm going to take it off completely for a month or so I think and take up the carpet in the front room and stain the floorboards etc. which w've always intended to do but couldn't do it earlier in the year as the weather wasn't good enough to put the furniture outside.

I will feel bad for my buyers but I have always refused to start the legal process until I had found somewhere to buy so nobody lost money on legal fees if I didn't (even though the agents were pushing me to get things going so they were financially committed to buying mine.) £25k though is a lot of money to lose out on and their offer was cheeky and there is still another for sale in the road (if they can get them to accept their cheeky offer!)

In other money matters, I am dangerously close to my overdraft limit  DH owes me £40 so I have asked him to pay that in tomorrow. I should really call and transfer some money back from my emergency fund but it's the first time I've ever had one and psychologically I'd rather not although I know I'm kidding myself as I've just eaten into my overdraft by that amount :(

I just found this post of mine from 4th March, so my house has been under offer for two months, it seems way longer than that!

I've had an offer on my house (for £25k less than asking price) which I have rejected, will have to wait to see what they come back with but at the moment I've not found anything I love and I don't care if they can't afford it. This will be my last house move (if in fact I move at all) and the equity in my house represents everything I've worked for nearly 40 years for so I'm not about to hand it to anyone else on a plate!

    Evening DFW-Ninjas,

Just a wee announcement from me today:

If my salary and Tax Credits are paid tomorrow as scheduled...we'll be debt-free.

    Wooooooooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I have to say that when I joined MSE in 2008 I didn't think I would actually ever see this challenge through. The road since my LBM in 2006 has been very long.

But this wee Forum has inspired me, especially Foxgloves, Ziggy, Shoot, La E, Candy, NotToo, Stitchy and gang, you know who you are. Thanks people. Thanks for listening to my whinging and inspiring me.

I'm still gonna hang around this thread and post as often as I can. I'm gonna feel like a Newbie all over again!

By way of celebration I shall change my default colour scheme from green to purple.

That's all for now. Good luck on your quests, Ninjas.
