Tax Credits

I am going to be starting work so will be claiming Tax credits and Housing benefit will the Tax credits office notify the council about my claim or do I need to take the award letter to the council?

    It's the claimants (you), responsibility to inform all relevant benefit agencies of any other income and/or change of circumstance.

    It's your responsibility to tell each organisation, however in the past when I have been claiming, the housing benefit office has wrote to me advising of change in HB due to TC change quicker than the TC office.
    It's still worth telling HB to cover yourself though.
