You do know you can buy postage online with a debit card and print out a postage label at home don't you?
I've just looked at UK standard Royal Mail rates and none of them are wholly divisible by 0.63p or 0.54p so you're always going to be over or under by a few pence. If you're under, they won't deliver so you'll need to either go over or keep a small stock of 1p 2p 5p and 10p stamps.

I have loads of stamps that I bought two years ago when they were cheap and need to use up.
It seems impossible to get across my idea that you can use a mix of first and second class stamps. Some rates you can do exactly, some you can't. For instance Royal Mail Special Delivery guaranteed by 9am costs £18.36 which can be made up exactly from 27 second class and six first class stamps.
The ideal would be to have an online calculator to tell you what to use to pay exactly, or the minimum overpayment you can do.0 -
So you want £10.98 postage ....
8 First class (8x0.63=5.04) and 11 Second class (11x0.54=£5.94)
I've just created a quick spreadsheet that totals the cost of combinations of 1st & 2nd up to 20 of each value.
eta. You could also do it with 14 First (£8.82) plus 4 Second (£2.16):heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Yes, I guess it wouldn't be that hard to create a spreadsheet and put it on my phone so I can use it when at the post office, thanks.0
