App to tell how many 1st and 2nd class stamps to make up amount

I've got a lot of first and second class stamps to use up and sometimes I send parcels. Does anyone know of an app or website that will tell me how of each to use to make up an exact amount for parcel postage? Would be really handy!

Thanks.

So say I need £10.98 postage. First class stamps are 63p, second class ones 54p. Show me your calculations for how many of each you want.

Just a couple of taps on my calculator gave me the following

    9 x 0.63 = £5.67
    9 x 0.54 = £4.86
    Total. £10.53

That's 45p less than the total you want, so you could stick another 54p stamp on, or buy 2x20p stamps and one 5p stamp

If I tried hard enough, I could probably get another combination of stamps to get closer to the figure you want...... But you could easily do this yourself with your calculator.

    It's basic math

    Simplest is 19x54=10.26 plus 1x63 = 10.89

But then I don't know how many stamps you have of each amount

A calculator will be your friend, not an app

Neither of you has correctly answered my question with your "basic math". I don't want to have to queue up at the Post Office and buy any extra stamps, and this is a money saving forum so I don't wish to waste any money by putting stamps to a value of more than I need on the parcel.

But the limited usage of any app is likely to make it's cost outweigh any saving to you

A simple spreadsheet showing each combination of stamps and then sorted by total value will do the job for you but 10 mins of my time costs £30 in terms of doing it for you

Well, unless the cost of your postage can be equally divided amongst the stamps you possess then you will have no choice but to either purchase one to make up the difference or use an extra second class one!

Well £10.98 can be. I have as many first and second class stamps as needed. Good grief this is hard work.

I often do this as I live out in the sticks - just use a pen and paper. You do sometimes have a bit to overpay but one or two calculations and you soon see if it can be cheaper or not.
