My daughter now only gets mobility standard rate. I just been told that the disabled tax part run out yesterday we are just about to appeal tonight. Its taken us 3 weeks to get information from her GP as she was away and only got this letter today from GP. Still awaiting more information from her specialist consultant.

I notice she is also getting around £100 per month less she use to get high rate mobility and low rate care.

This is letter we got.

Not sure what to do now maybe ring them tomorrow. Thought they give more grace. The lady who did interview even hinted to get more medical evidence, she gave distinct impression we should win even winked to give us nod so to speak, she winked and said "you no what I mean" regarding evidence.

Have you requested the medical report / statement of reasons? You need to go through the descriptors which can be found here and explain why, in the appeal letter, your daughter can't perform them in a safe, timely and reliable manner. Your daughter must be able to repeat the descriptors.

As someone on the standard mobility, your daughter is entitled to half price road tax discount.

Thanks she got 10 points for mobility and nothing for care. Despite her needing help dressing, cooking, showering. She use to get high rate mobility and low rate care.

We have gone through each of the descriptors pointing out issues with the decision. I have to ring them tomorrow to make sure car is still classed as disabled as current on road illegally.

Whilst the letter explains her condition well, may I suggest you document the things she can't do, and needs help with. As the poster above recommended, look up the descriptors and start from there.
    Good luck!

I used to get high rate mobility and middle rate care under DLA - had that for 19 years.

The PIP decision was a big fat 0 for both!

Couldn't face the prospect of writing a submission, searching for evidence and waiting to appear in court so gave up.
It's not right but there you go.

    You had a good result!

Sorry to hear that billywilly. I understand its difficult for many people to go through the rig-moral of appealing I didn't like it myself. But it wasn't as bad as I thought. I just went though all the descriptors highlighting my daughters difficulty and how there version of events was wrong on some points like for instance she cant walk for 30 metres with tiring and uses crutches. All this was done through writing a letter no other contact for us was necessary. We didn't need to appeal in end.

I also enclosed medical evidence from her GP which took some time to come.

    So my advice is

Get the medical evidence as quickly as you can before the pip assessment. Take someone with you for support but as in my case I was not allowed to speak on her behalf even when she missed things out which were relevant.
