Saffron BS Disappearing Accounts

Good evening all.

Is it normal for Saffron Building Society accounts to mysteriously disappear from the online access system?

I just logged in a few minutes ago to check my balances, and my ISA account (opened last month) has completely vanished! I know it was there last week because I logged in to check that my initial deposit had gone in successfully.

Is it likely to reappear, or should I contact them?

  • I'd imagine it must be a little bit worrying to see your account disappear from their computer system. My advice would be to give them a quick call in the morning. They have a superb customer service, and I'm sure they'll treat your query quickly and efficiently. I've rung them a few times, and have been impressed every time.

    Thanks both.

No error messages for me - the account just isn't there any more.

I've sent them a Secure Message.

Seems to be a wider problem, not only affecting me. They have posted the following notice on their Web site:
Please be aware that we are currently experiencing difficulties with postal/branch based accounts being viewable online. Your accounts have not been impacted by this situation and we hope to resolve this as soon as possible

I had a problem last Friday where my branch/passbook accounts were not displayed but my E.Saver was displayed. I spoke to their help desk and was advised that the branch/passbook accounts are on a different computer to the on-line accounts. They have had problems in earlier days and their IT dept would link the accounts on both systems again. This morning I could only get to see my personal details and no accounts were displayed. The E.saver account was again displayed about 10 minutes ago but my branch/passbook accounts are not. Perhaps try again in the morning.
