Hi all I'm deaf and applying for acsess to work. I have said I think I need a speech to text phone and also a vibrating device for fire alarms. Now they have got back to me asking for make, model and price of it. I am unaware that I had to do this I thought they would assess me and give me reccomendations. Also they didn't mention the fire alarm device on the email to me,
I am unaware of what would work within my job area due to the number of departments and also what is good for me as ive never used them before. Any help would be great.

Have a look at this, particularly page 16 which describes the process.

It seems that they have missed out the step whereby they refer to an external assessor.
Can someone telephone for you and ask that you have a face to face interview to get an assessment of your needs carried out?0
