I bought some shoes from sportsdirect online and I don't like them. I told them to return them to the shop but they told me that they will issue me a voucher instead of giving me a refund! is this acceptable?

Yes.
Been asked many times, try the forum search...0 -
Thy don't give refunds just because you don't like them.
They would only give a refund if they were faulty.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

You should be able to return them via online and get a refund (including initial postage, but you paying for return postage), but SD may deduct a sum from the refund if your method of assessment has detracted from the value of the goods. (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 which superseded the Distance Selling Regulations).
That's the legal position ... getting SD to even understand nevermind abide by the law is another matter entirely.0 -
As bod says if you return them to a shop then they will issue a credit note.
They can't do this if you return them by post though, keep everything at a distance and they are bound by the CCR, so need to refund. Not sure why returning them to a shop breaks this, if it does, but I think if it went to court they wouldn't get away with it.0 -
You should have read the terms & conditions before ordering.I bought some shoes from sportsdirect online and I don't like them. I told them to return them to the shop but they told me that they will issue me a voucher instead of giving me a refund! is this acceptable?
It clearly says you have to return them by post.
So yes, it is acceptable (but obviously not to you).
I recently ordered some stuff from SD on-line.
I'd read all the threads about problems in returning items - both in store and online - and made sure I would be happy with the items (assuming they were not faulty) by going in store and trying a very similar item on before ordering.
You only have 14 days to return the item (and it has to be the whole order if you have ordered more than 1 item) and you have to pay the postage.0 -

You have 14 days to notify them you intend to cancel and then another 14 days from notifying them to actually send the goods back.
You also don't need to return the whole order unless you want a refund of original delivery costs. So if you order 3 items and return 1, you'll be refunded for that 1 item but not the delivery cost. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I guess I should have posted what SD website says about returns (instead of paraphrasing) but I wanted the OP to realise that he had limited time to take action on returning his unwanted goods to SD by the appropriate method.

When they arrived, one of them was completely the wrong size to which I had ordered and the other was damaged so I decided to return all three shoes via distribution. I made sure that I noted that I wanted the money back onto my debit card on the return slip, however, they returned all the money back onto a store voucher. I don't usually shop in sports direct, it really was a one off and now I'm stuck with this stupid voucher. When I emailed customer service, they said that there is nothing they can do now as it is on a voucher and they can't return the voucher for money! When I called up, one of the representatives basically told me that it's my fault for returning all of the shoes. I can't believe this, it's absurd. Not all the shoes were a change of mind, I'm not at fault and now I'm out of pocket because I had to pay a TWO delivery charges. I had a few of cases like this with sports direct but I thought it would be different if I brought online... obviously not.
